Accessories That Can Be Displayed In Various Places

What kind of goods or accessories do you imagine from this photo? I imagine binding a curtain in a residential apartment. And I imagine some accessories like earrings and hair accessories, too.

This accessory's name is "Tassel". This accessory originated in Egyptian civilization. It is said that it was a design imitating natural objects such as flowers and grass as a decorative item made from bundling threads.

Tassel began in Japan in a shop called "Konoya Imari". This shop is a specialty shop with tassels in Yame Kyushu. This is a citiy where various traditional crafts are gathered. For 100 years, the staff at the Konoya Imari ordered or made the tassels that fulfilled the customer's request. At some point, they developed a new tassel called "Accessory Tassel" so people can enjoy tassel easily for fashion and interior decorating.

This time, I tried to make a "Tassel earring". The material I used was the excess thread when I make the Misanga last time, plus two jump rings, two accessory parts for the earring, a scissors and cardboard.

Fist, wind a thread around the cardboard and loop the upper part with a different thread. And next, pull the thread out of the cardboard and loop strongly at the place that is 1 centimeter from the top with a different thread. and cut the bottom of the thread.

Finally, lace a jump ring and accessory parts for the earring at the top of the thread. It's done!

If you change the thread or cloth or anything, this accessory tassel will have a different image. Please try it!

Accessories With a Wish

Misanga originated from a charm kitting a cord made in a Portuguese church 400 years ago .People in the church made handmade hearts, they gave them to the people who came to the church and they wished for thier happiness.
To Japan, Brazilian players of a certain time wore Misanga. When the J-League because popular, wearing Misanga increased too.

And also the meaning of Misanga will change depending on the place you attach it to.
Handedness: fulfillment of a love affair
Oppossite of handedness: accomplishment of academic
Footedness: friendship
Opposite of footedness: luck

If you want to try this accessory, please prepare three 1.5m embroidery threads.
And braid these. It's the simplest way to make Misanga.

0 Yen Hair Accessorie

Hi! Today is Labor Thanksgiving Day, so Tsurumi University was closed. Did everybody go out somewhere? I was going to go to my part-time job today, but I was absent. Because I had a cold from last Saturday, so I was at home all day today. Please everybody be careful about catching a cold, too! Now, let's get down to the main part.

When I was a junior high school student, AKB48 was very popular with students around me. Do you remember that music called "ponytail and the chou-chou" from AKB48 music? At that time, all the girls around me decorated their hair with chou-chou, and also on their wrist and bag. I suddenly remembered, so I will introduce about "chou-chou" today.

The advantage of the chou-chou is  that tying the hair . And I think that it is a hair accessory that can easily be cute or mature.
Chou-Chou is French. The meaning is favorite things. Chou is meaning in French means cabbage. Cabbage leaves have many layers, In Frence, they have the image that cute or lovable things are handled gently. So the word chou-chou meaning favorite was born from thise reason.

Next, I will teach you how to make it. All you need is one cloth of 14 cm × 54 cm, one of 20 cm hair rubber, needle, thread and scissors. I used the excess cloth that I used to make a hair pin the other day, and I had an embroidery set at my house. So I was able to align these with 0 yen this time.

First, make a half of the cloth so the back side comes to the front. And sew 5 cm from both ends and  1 cm from the top. The tips for sewing cleanly are straight and sew with the same width.

Next, flip the cloth over and make a half of the cloth again. And sew 1 cm from bottom ends to be a loop.
And then, put hair rubber though the cloth. And tie it tightly. Finally sew the vacant place.

A girl-like bracelet

This time I will introduce the easiest handmade accessory I've ever introduced. It is a ribbon bracelet.

What to prepare is 1 meter ribbon, one of 35 cm chain, 4.5 G round cans, adjuster and hook. And you need scissors and pliers. These items can found  at the "Kiwa Seisakujo" which I introduced last time. Please have a look.

Let's start to make it!

First of all, connect a hook and a chain with a round can. Then pass the ribbon through the round can. When passing through, the ribbon comes out of the round can, so hold the round can and pass the ribbon through.

Next I will braid three chains and ribbons. Those who do not know how to make a braid, please watch the video through the following URL.
https://youtu.be/O_SzJ-W7sBc

When knitting three braids it is easy to fix the round can in place with scotch tape. Especially I recommend the way to fix the pliers with the knee through the round can at the tip of the pliers. By doing this, it will not come out even if you pull the ribbon and chain. In addition, by braiding three braids while pulling, you can knit them straight.

When the chain has about 3 cm to go, fix the part you knitted with a round can. Next pass the remaining chain through the adjuster and fix them with the round can. Then knot the remaining ribbon like a butterfly. When the ribbons are easy to disassemble, put a little glue on the knot of the ribbon. It's done!

Please try to make lots of different colors, and gave it to your friends. It will be a good memory!

Tsumami Zaiku 2

Last time, I introduced the sword tsumami. This time, I will introduce another way of making the tsumami zaiku. It’s the round tsumami. As the name says, it is a technique to make the pinch  rounded. When you use this technique you can make a pretty plump atmosphere of flowers. I took on the challenge of making a hairpin with this. Let’s look at how to make it!!

Prepare these.

First, fold the square cloths of 2 cm and 3 cm into a triangle twice. And pick up the middle of the cloths which made a triangle and break it like in the image. Here is the difference from the sword tsumami. You cannot round it later if you get it wrong here, so please careful.

Then, attach glue to two places of the cloths and pick it up lightly and hold them with a clothespin. At this time, cut cloths and make the height even with form. If the glue is dry, pick it up at the place same as an image and prepare cloths in a circle.

Next, we make a base. Attach glue to the cardboard and attach it to the center of the round cloth. And cut a part of the cloth which remains like in the photograph with scissors and attach it to the cardboard with glue. Then past it on the hairpin.

Finally, attach glue to the bottom of the petal of the cloth and display it on the base. And attach glue to the center and it is complete after you put on three small beads.

Tsumami Zaiku 1

It's now autumn. This time, I made an accessory that uses a technique called "Tsumami zaiku" that will reminds us of autumn. "Tsumami zaiku" is  a techinique handed down from the Edo Period. This technique is fold one by one a few pieces of cloth, it is a technique to show them piled  up like a flower. There are two main types of tsumami zaiku. They are "sword tsumami" and "circle tsumami".  I challenged sword tsumami to make these pierced .

Prepre these. Most of the materials you can buy at the 100 yen shop.

Let's start to make it!

First, fold the cloth three times from a square to a triangle.
And you clip it with clothespins. Next, put glue on the part of the bottom side. When glue drieds, cut the part of the bottom side a little.

Second, create the groundwork by the cloth and cardboard and put on it by glue. And cut the circle cloth like 2. and put it on the cardboard and wait for dry. Whiile waiting, thread the beads to the 9-pin, and put it on the round foundation and paste it by glue.

Third, remove the clothespin cloth triangle, and stuck to the round foundaition. and put a white bead at the center.Last, you connect with pierce in a round can .

and Completion!!

Origin of the sword tsumami is because like the sword when you see the triangle cloth.

The times it takes to make one of the pierce, 40 minutes.
Will you changing the color of the beads or  cloth, you can make your own pierce.

Please try it!
